Frequently Asked Questions
What is Reiki and what does it help with?Reiki is often referred to as energy healing. I like to think of energy in our bodies like flowing water. As we move though life, we store stress and trauma in the body - like boulders - which can create physical and mental disturbances. Reiki helps to ease and shift those boulders, allowing the energy to flow easily - like water. The ebb and flow of life. Reiki is a powerful tool for: Anxiety, stress, depression, chronic pain, inflammation, insomnia, sleep issues and trauma. Plus, overall wellbeing.
Can I have Reiki if I’m pregnant?
Absolutely, It’s a completely natural and gentle treatment and benefits both you and your baby.
What will Reiki feel like? Our energy is unique to us, so everyone will experience Reiki differently. That being said, I hear similar feedback after sessions. The most common include - seeing lights and colours, old memories returning, feeling physical shifting inside the body, releasing emotions, muscle finches, feeling heat from my hands and feeling my touch in multiple places at once.
How often should I have Reiki?Honestly, as much as you like. I try to practise Reiki on myself every day. Some will find one session will create a lasting impact for up to a few weeks. The thing is our energy shifts constantly and is affected by our busy lives and events that unfold. So you may wish to have Reiki every month or every six months, its totally up to you.
Are there any physical or mental risks? No, Reiki is one of the most natural therapies and cannot cause any harm. Like a therapy session - energy healing has a way of bringing things up to the surface, so its best to book when you don’t have much planned afterwards.
How will I feel after?Everyone is unique, just like their individual energy. Some people will fee lighter and more energised. Others will feel like they need to sleep and deeply rest. Reiki can help to relieve anxiety and low mood - as well as those struggling with sleep issues. I will always check in with you the days afterwards and am happy to answer any questions you may have.
